🌷 Floral Care Guide: How to Keep Your Blooms Looking Fresh & Fabulous

Updated: Apr 18

At La Dulce Dahlia, we believe that every petal deserves to be cherished. So here’s a simple, guide to caring for your fresh florals like the flower-loving goddess you are šŸ’

🌿 1. Start with a Clean Vase

Bacteria is a flower’s worst enemy. Always begin by washing your vase with warm, soapy water to ensure a clean and fresh environment for your blooms. Rinse well to remove any residue before adding water.

šŸ’§ 2. Trim the Stems (Yes, Again!)

Even if your flowers come pre-trimmed, give them a fresh cut at a 45-degree angle before placing them in water. This helps the stems absorb water more easily and keeps them hydrated longer.

āœ‚ļø Tip: Trim about ½ inch off every few days for lasting freshness!

🌸 3. Remove Any Leaves Below the Water Line

Leaves that sit in water can lead to bacteria growth. Remove any foliage that would be submerged to keep your arrangement fresh and your water clear.

🧊 4. Keep Them Cool & Cozy

Place your flowers in a cool area, away from direct sunlight, heaters, or fans. Extreme heat will cause wilting. And as dreamy as they look on a windowsill, too much sun can shorten their life.

šŸ„‚ 5. Refresh Their Water

Change the water every 2–3 days and rinse your vase if needed. Add fresh flower food if available — or use a pinch of sugar and a drop of bleach for a DIY solution.

šŸ’• Final Touch: Add Your Intention

Before you place your bouquet, take a moment to romanticize the moment. Whether it’s for yourself or someone special, flowers are a reminder that beauty and love deserve to be part of your everyday life.
